He had been to a Chiropractor in his early teens, but received only symptomatic relief care. That means he was only adjusted where he had pain. He would feel a little better for a while, but it wasn’t fixing anything. So he was very skeptical when his wife dragged him into Dr. Dan Yachter’s office. Dr. Dan took the time to evaluate his entire spine and showed Dr. Joe how the misalignments in his spine were shutting down the normal operation of his immune system. He put together a corrective plan that included Corrective Chiropractic Care, Nutrition Counseling, Detox, and Exercise. Within 2 weeks, Dr. Joe felt alive again for the first time in 17 years. It took every piece of the plan Dr. Dan recommended for him to overcome his autoimmune condition. These are the Core Principles that Dr. Joe utilizes at Dunamis Family Health today.
It was also only 2 weeks after starting his own healing journey that Dr. Joe took steps to leave the IT industry and become a Chiropractor. He attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, FL, graduating in 2011. He was awarded the prestigious Virgil Strang Philosophy Award, which recognizes the student who has the greatest impact in promoting the principles of Chiropractic throughout the community. Throughout his time at Palmer, Dr. Joe spent hundreds of hours learning corrective adjusting techniques (Pettibon, CBP, and the CLEAR Institute), Functional Nutrition, and Detoxification strategies not taught as part of the traditional Chiropractic curriculum. He knew through his own struggles what he would need to help his patients get truly well.
In his final year of Chiropractic School, Dr. Joe and his wife added a son to their family. This was another Chiropractic miracle for them since medical doctors had said it would be impossible with her PCOS. With God, all things are possible.
Dr. Joe knows what it is like to suffer from poor health and watch loved ones suffer. He brings his passion to serve the sick and suffering of Volusia County with a mission to lead others to the same recovery he experienced and to help many more avoid having to experience it at all.
Dr. Joe grew up in Central Florida, earned his Bachelor’s degree at Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina in 1998 and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2011.
